Wilson refers to the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) as "the Mexican Halloween." While Halloween is rooted in fear and mischief, Dia de los Muertos celebrates and honors the lives of loved ones who have died. Although it does occur at the same time as Halloween, they are completely different holidays. It would be like confusing Christmas and Hannukah.
