Benny Fans Will Likely Rate It Higher

Lucy is dispatched to take dictation for Jack Benny's autobiography, where she is seen portraying the various women in his life in flashback sequences.

This is a fan-favorite but obviously will have more value to Benny fans than those who aren't. It's odd that the script has Lucy acting as though the two are meeting for the first time. Lucy Carter and her family rented rooms from Jack back in the second episode of HERE'S LUCY in 1968.

We see Lucy playing Benny's mother in the early 20th century. Michael Barbera - who plays Jack Benny as a boy -- appeared as a bratty kid who discovered Jeannie's secret in a Season 5 I DREAM OF JEANNIE episode. This part has some funny jokes about the origin of Jack's mannerisms and his legendary thriftiness.

Then we see Lucy as a waitress in a café during WWI; a Charleston dancer during the 1920s; as Jack's wife and radio show partner Mary Livingstone during the '40s (Lucy looks like June Allyson); a platinum blonde movie star in the 1950s.

**SPOILER** There is a cameo appearance by George Burns in the final scene and a rather cheeky (for this series) line about "the pill". 7/10.
