Look for the dress!

This is a fun episode. When they are having the garage sale look in the background. There is the polka-dot dress the Lucy wore on the original "I Love Lucy" show from the 1950s. You will recognize it when you see it. The plot of this episode is fun. I liked it.

I Wish This Was a Better Episode

When the Carters have a garage sale, among their junk they discover a cigarette lighter in the shape of Aladdin's lamp. One by one, their wishes come true and they wonder if the lamp is indeed magical.

This story is very juvenile and the episode is not very well-written. Lucy wishes for $50 to repair the leaky roof and soon a cheque arrives for Lucy in that amount (her prize in a jingle contest); Craig scores hard-to-get football tickets; Harry brings Kim's favorite ice cream.

When Lucy hides the lamp from Harry in the wastebasket, it ends up in the trash chute, where Lucy and Harry dig through garbage to retrieve it. The writers are already repeating ideas from Season 1 (see "Lucy The Process Server"). At least William Lanteau livens up this scene as the high-strung building superintendent Mr. Minkle. Otherwise, you can skip this one. 4/10.
