When Jim Forbes (James Whitmore) comes back to Dodge it causes a stir in the small town. Jim Forbes use to live outside Dodge and had a mine that he felt sure was rich with gold. He needed some money to keep digging and thought of a way to get the townsfolk to invest in his property. One day he salted the mine (meaning he placed quartz to make it look like he was close to a big find) and then got people to come visit and invest. Later the townsfolk found out that there was no gold arriving and they filed warrants on Jim and he was sentenced to three years. So his reunion to the town was not met with excitement.
Jim has returned with money from his sister, to start the mine back up. But this does not sit well with some of the citizens that lost money. They want his sister's money and will try to get it at any cost. They will not only try to beat the money out of Jim but also attack his teenage son. It boils down to where Jim straps a gun on and goes looking for the men responsible for his beating.
Even though the show was entertaining it was also very predictable. Without giving the ending away- any person can guess how this show will end and they would be correct. Anyway it was a good watch but was real vanilla in presentation.
