    Secrets and Moans

Linda Guzik wrote this episode and it's not one of the best. She, like the Palladinos, are overrated. However, the usual characters just being their wonderful selves make this work.

    Underrated

I have to give this a 10 just for the fact I believe too many people don't understand the conflict. It's not simply about being too proud to go to her parents for help. I think unless you have had parents that have done something to hurt you, truly hurt you, you can't possibly understand the NEED to have them out of as many aspects of your life as possible. I thought Lorelai did a great job explaining that to Rory in the end, but apparently a lot of people missed it. Lorelai already puts so much of her pride aside for Rory to go to Chilton and to have her grandparents in her life. She just wanted so badly to not need help with this. This episode had a lot of depth in my opinion. I loved it.

    • Trivia
As they enter the bank, Lorelai says to Emily: "I swear, one of these days, Alice. Pow! Right in the kisser!", to which Emily responds: "Who's Alice?" The answer, of course, is Alice Kramden (played by Audrey Meadows), the wife of bus driver Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason) on the popular 1950s sitcom "The Honeymooners". Ralph used to issue that empty threat when he became frustrated during arguments with Alice, although he never really followed through on his bluster.
    • Goofs
When Lorelai gets the ice cream out of the freezer, the door doesn't shut, revealing it isn't a real freezer. When she sits down, she places the ice cream tub in front of her, with the lid on. In the next shot, from behind her, the tub has jumped onto the wooden table centrepiece, with the lid off. We then face Lorelai again, and see Sookie taking the lid off the ice cream. After this, the placement of the cutlery mug jumps about and the amount of ice cream in the tub changes almost constantly throughout the scene.
