  Will : I did? I was just trying to get the hell out the way.

  Carlton Banks : Will, stop it, I don't think it's funny.

  Will : Carlton, come on, man. We gotta have a sense of humor about this. This kind of stuff happens all the time.

  Carlton Banks : That's the problem. It happens *all* the time.

  Philip Banks : [Walks towards the door and turns to everyone else]  I'm, uh, gonna go talk to him.

  [Walks into the waiting area and past Nicky, who is with three of the nurses and towards Carlton] 

  Philip Banks : Son, where are you going?

  Carlton Banks : I don't know. I'm going for a walk.

  Philip Banks : Carlton, it's after midnight. I don't need something to happen to you.

  Carlton Banks : Well, there's nothing you can do about it. These things just happen, right?

  Philip Banks : Carlton, I know you're upset. You've been through a very traumatic experience. Now, if you just calm down, we can talk about this rationally.

  Carlton Banks : You're always in control, aren't you? Always know what to do, always know what to say. Well, you know what gets me? The police aren't even gonna find this guy. And even if they do, so what? He'll be out on the streets in six months.

  Philip Banks : That's not going to happen.

  Carlton Banks : Come on, Dad, it's happened to people you've put away.

  Philip Banks : But the legal system isn't perfect.

  Carlton Banks : Go talk to Will about our legal system! It's such a joke. People aren't even afraid of it.

  [the elevator door opens and he gets in] 

  Philip Banks : [Walks towards Carlton and stops the door from closing]  Carlton. Look, I'm frustrated too. But as a judge, I have to have faith in it no matter how much I wanna go out and knock some heads.

  [Brief pause] 

  Philip Banks : Eventually the system will come through.

  Carlton Banks : I'm all grown up, Dad. Don't tell me any more fairy tales.

  [the door closes]
