- A fender bender gives Frasier a bloody nose. He and Niles end up in the hospital. When a man temporarily poses as Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and suddenly drops dead, local media reports lament the popular radio host's "passing," but the embarrassing mix up allows Frasier to read his own obituary and ponder his life's unfulfilled hopes and dreams. Meanwhile, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) confronts the prohibitively expensive plastic surgeon (Jane Adams) who re-puttied his ex-wife's face but he is so entranced when he meets her that he allows the doctor to work her magic on his own mug.
- Frasier and Niles have a minor car accident and end up at the hospital, Frasier ends up with a bloody nose. While waiting for Frasier to be seen, Niles discovers that Maris' plastic surgeon, who is still sending him the bills for Maris' Botox treatments, is based here. He takes the opportunity to confront this Dr. Mel Karnofsky, and finds that she is a young-looking, attractive divorcee with a fussy nature akin to his own and an interest in the arts. Unable to master enough courage to ask her out, he pretends to be interested in some Botox treatment for himself. Frasier is shocked, but not half as shocked as when a local news report announces his death later that day. The mistake had been made when he left the hospital early, and someone else took his place in the line and suffered a fatal heart attack. When reading his obituary in the newspaper, Frasier reflects on his life, and all the things he has yet to achieve. Martin, meanwhile, enjoys the attention and free drinks he receives from everyone who thinks he has just lost his son.
- A minor fender-bender sends Frasier to the hospital with a bloody nose. While waiting, Niles hears the name of Maris's plastic surgeon, Mel Karnofsky, and decides to confront him about a billing error. An annoying man bores Frasier into leaving the office, and the man uses Frasier's name to jump the line. Niles is surprised to find that Mel is actually a woman, with whom he has a lot in common. The man at the hospital dies suddenly, and Frasier is mistakenly thought dead for a day. He takes it as a wake-up call, doing his best to live life to the fullest every day. Niles doesn't have the nerve to ask Mel for a date, so instead he has repeated cosmetic surgeries from her.—crouchbk
