Four Star Playhouse Season 3 Episode 26: Night At Lark Cottage. Is a clever "Cat and Mouse"'episode between Paul ( Charles Boyer) and Lucille ( Beverly Garland). The only question is who is the "Cat" and who is the "Mouse"? If this was an Ida Lupino episode ( she was never a favorite of mine), you would know exactly how it turns out. She is the woman in peril and survives. But this is a Charles Boyer episode so everything is not exactly as it seems. One thing really stands out: The camerawork. It makes Paul look very sinister to Lucille., but nice to her daughter. Garland's Lucille is more then a match for him. She is very calm, cool and collective, with a hardness about her. Who wins the "Cat and Mouse" game? I won't spoil it except to say whoever does, ends up with the little girl.
