The Subject Was Money (Part 1)
JordanThomasHall31 August 2018
Sister Bertrille receives a letter from a friend of the family "Uncle" Reggie Overton Perkins (Alan Hale Jr., "Gilligan's Island") saying he will be visiting Puerto Rico. She warns the convent that she's the only friend he has left in the family, as he's taken them for a lot of money. He charms those at the convent and offers to help their finances. His business in San Juan is to assist in the management of Carlos' casino and implements successful tactics to increase business. Foremost is a window displaying a large amount of money being processed in the counting room. It draws the attention of Bruce (Dick Gautier, "Get Smart") and Faye (Ruta Lee) who begin plotting to rob the casino. Meanwhile, Uncle Reggie suggests the convent can make money by going through the casino's money each night to find rarities worth more than face value. Faye poses as Sister Mary Grace pretending to have been invited to the convent from a bishop in a lost letter. She joins the group in the counting room and fakes an attack of malaria, allowing Bruce to swipe nearly $50,000. However, the prime suspect is Uncle Reggie. (To be continued)
