Fred thinks his new neighbor Alvin Brickrock has done away with his wife.

One of the best of Season 2. Brickrock is a spot on parody of Alfred Hitchcock. Fred convinces Barney that Mrs. Brickrock's body is in a trunk left in his house. Brickrock does admit the trunk is "for her body". See the episode to see what that means.

ALVIN BRICKROCK, AT YOUR SERVICE?

I agree with Jimmy. Having grown up on the FLINTSTONES, this episode has to be one of the best of Season 2, and for that matter, possibly the entire series. It's a very clever take-off on Alfred Hitchcock, and with all the spooky stuff thrown in for us big kids at heart. You have to love this.

Elliot Field plays the voice of Brickrock, and is just hilarious. I think even Hitch himself would have been impressed. Fred and Wilma have a strange new neighbor, and right away there are suspicions. Brickrock is a rather mysterious guy... and what happened to his wife? The big question surrounds a trunk, and just what's inside. Scared to death Fred recruits Barney to do a little detective work. Watch what happens NEXT...

Interestingly, this story is similar to an episode on the real ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS tv show, all about a man (played by David Wayne), who kills his wife and stuffs her in the trunk of his car! Creative writing by Larry Markes, who wrote six episodes for the show, best known for writing the goofy DEAN MARTIN CELEBRITY ROAST series.

There's not much background on Elliot Field, except to say he did a lot of voice work on other classic cartoon series, such as QUICK DRAW MCGRAW and the INCREDIBLE HULK. His impersonation of Hitchcock is memorable.

10 Plus Stars. From SEASON 2 remastered color.
