Chiana manages to get chased off the planet because of her natural proclivities. Meanwhile Sikozou is participating in the same proclivities, but she is a little bit more careful about it. And more successful. In fact, this is the one event where Sikozou has actually been extremely helpful, and for once, has acted as one of the crew instead of an imperious passenger.
But Chiana refuses to be chased off of any planet. She simply won't accept any instruction from anyone, not John Crichton, and certainly not "Captain James T D'Argo". So she finds a way around her banishment.
But there is one person she will at least respect: a priest with twisted Horns named "Paroos". Who is this guy? There is actually a theory floating around as to this characters origins, apparently it is a homage to a certain character from another show. Somebody else talks about that though.
This episode has a very odd beginning. We see events as they are happening from several different "vantage points". In fact, it is a lot like the film "Vantage point" which depicts events surrounding a murder by several different people. Maybe this episode served to help construct that film. But the question at the beginning of this episode is, are these events what are actually occurring or is this all in the mind of Aeryn Sun?
It appears that this entire planet revolves around a little twisted humanoid version of Rygel named Paroos- he is a very wise and important person. And he also has a sense of humor as well as liking Chiana.
Speaking of which, it does not say who is voicing this character. That information has not been listed anywhere in the world at any time. And I just have to ask, who did the voice for Paroos? After listening to him a bit, I believe it was Jonathan Hardy. Doing a kind of cameo. Listen very closely to Paroos- to the quality of his voice, it is my belief that it was Jonathan. As Rygel only speaks one line the whole time, and that from Moya's comms.
The thing that is creepy about this episode is the guy who hangs around with Bruce Spence, who portrays the current crooked leader of this planet, another "offworlder" who has Sgabbaflies growing out of his head. "E'elat" or some other weird name. Because, there are no bugs on this planet. So where are these bugs coming from?
Are they are coming from a guy who has a beehive attached to his head? Find out...
Shudder!!
This is our first visit to "tormented space", and the name fits. Every little adventure that Moya's crew has in this area gets more and more demented.
Be prepared for even more fun when the crew share various color clams on the next planet...
Paroos however, that was one cool character. And he even carries a buzz saw in his little box that is attached to his anti-grav chair... it's what he does with it that is completely insane, "I have a buzzsaw and I am not afraid to use it"!
One other thing I have to mention is that you will notice, when Aeryn is trying to describe the events leading to her involvement in this conundrum, Crichton reacts in a kind of "Who Cares" manner. By doing this, he is dismissing important information that will point him to the solution to this insanity.
He has done this in other episodes, especially the episode with the Vork- he also does this dismissal in Picture if you Will, during their second involvement with Maldus.
This is something that Crichton always does. He constantly misses important information by taking on the attitude "who cares, what does that have to do with anything?" When in fact it is important information.
And when Aeryn is explaining one of the most important aspects of her experience, Crichton is very rude with his Dismissal.
