Drama with comedy.

This one of the best sci-fy show created. Its funny, witty, dramatic and engaging; each season gets better. The characters are great as their intense interrealtions keeps the viwer engaged. Its interesting aliens and one human. John Crieghton, a human astronaut, joins the group of alien refugees, who are prisoners of the peace keepers. Crieghton learns about this alternative universe and fits right in with thr other rebels. A starship with a police force that keeps this universe in order. As if he were in a nightmare, Crieghton continues to search for a wormhole to take him back to his beloved earth. Yet he develops a serious relationship with officer Sun who helps him pilot the living ship the levithian Moya. Alien ships are living beings and the writers ofv this show did their ufo research.

With action, comedy and tragedy this shows just how good Farscape could be

After the events of the previous episode Moya is in orbit around a planet getting repaired while Aeryn, Crichton, D'Argo, Stark and apparent new crew member Jool are on the surface visiting a memorial. The memorial celebrates a five hundred year old victory where the thirty peace keepers saved a group of nurses from an attack by a species known as the Venek Hoard. Crichton is impressed by the helmets there that enable the wearer to see the moment the peace treaty was agreed; it isn't a recording; they are actually viewing the past. He insists Stark looks but he just sees death; they struggle to get the helmet off but something strange happens and they find themselves thrown back in time to the moments before the attack. Worrying that their actions could change history Crichton insists that they do the absolute minimum but when the Venek general is captured Crichton must get involved as he was the man responsible for the ceasefire; he tries to free him but is seen and the general is killed. At this point Stark finds the rupture in time and they push Jool through; something is wrong though; there is no sign of the memorial; clearly they have changed the planet's history. They continue to try to set thing right but as each thing they do appears to make things worse in the future... if they are to reset time they will have to abandon the nurses and hope history plays out as it did before they interfered.

Early on I thought that this might be a weaker episode; especially when they got sent back in time... I 'knew' it would all work out and while history would change slightly our heroes would save the day... I certainly did not expect the tragic ending where Moya's crew would have accidentally have caused the deaths of people who history previously said would survive. I've often thought that certain Farscape episodes were like those from 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' but with a greater sense of fun; this was like one with a much greater sense of tragedy. Ben Browder puts in a particularly fine performance as Crichton as there situation looks increasingly like that of the defenders at the Alamo and then, just as he thinks everything is fixed he learns that people died because of his actions.

While this is a tragic episode it isn't without its laughs... such as when Jool learns the medicine she just drank was made from urine! People wanting action won't be disappointed either; there are exciting battles Jool gets an arrow through the arm and a heroic Peacekeeper dies with a spear through his chest... shedding a surprising amount of blood for television sci-fi.
