The Facts of Life (TV Series)
Double Standard (1980)
Grant Wilson: Harrison Andrews
Quotes
-
Harrison Andrews : I came to return Jo's shoe.
Natalie Green : What'd you do with the rest of her?
-
Blair Warner : [after Harrison demeans women, unaware Jo's standing behind him] I understand perfectly. What you're saying is there's two kinds of women. The kind you marry and the kind you... don't.
Jo Polniaczek : That's exactly what he's saying.
Blair Warner : How could you let him say that? Do something, deck him!
Jo Polniaczek : I already did that.
Harrison Andrews : I, uh, guess I better leave.
Blair Warner : No, buster. You stick around here. I'll deck you!
[lunges after him and Jo stops her]
-
Harrison Andrews : [after he explains why he asked Jo to the cotillion in the first place] Blair, be sensible. You're the kind of girl men want in their future.
Blair Warner : [sarcastically] Oh. And Jo's the kind of girl men need in their past.
-
Jo Polniaczek : Oh, you can count me out, because I've got other plans for tonight.
Harrison Andrews : Yeah? Uh, what kind of plans?
Jo Polniaczek : Oh, I don't know. Have a little fun and get a few kicks.
Harrison Andrews : Right. What's life without kicks?
Jo Polniaczek : Death.
Harrison Andrews : So what do you do, just... hop on your bike and hit the streets?
Jo Polniaczek : Only when I don't hold on tight enough.
Harrison Andrews : Yeah. Bet you stay out till all hours, don't you?
Jo Polniaczek : Oh, no, we have a curfew.
[scoffs]
Jo Polniaczek : And sometimes I even make it.
[giggles]
Harrison Andrews : Where are you going tonight?
Jo Polniaczek : Oh, probably swing by the arcade in town.
Harrison Andrews : [scoffs] How'd you like it if I showed up at the arcade tonight?
Jo Polniaczek : It's a public place. I mean, I couldn't have you arrested.
Harrison Andrews : Look, I gotta get back. Would you tell Blair I had to go?
Jo Polniaczek : Mm. Sure.
-
Mrs. Edna Ann Garrett : Have you known each other long?
Blair Warner : Ever since we were babies. Our families have always hoped we would grow up and join our two great bloodlines.
Jo Polniaczek : Are you people, or racehorses?
Blair Warner : Better a racehorse than a jackass. Of course, we haven't seen each other in years.
[gushes]
Blair Warner : Harrison's been going to school in Switzerland.
Jo Polniaczek : [to Harrison] What did you major in, yodeling?
Harrison Andrews : It's a little more than that.
Mrs. Edna Ann Garrett : Well, after Switzerland, I hope you don't find Bates Academy boring.
Blair Warner : It will be such fun. We'll pick up where we left off when we were six.
Natalie Green : That would be sweet, seeing you two pedaling around on tricycles.
Blair Warner : Harrison's toys have four wheels now. Tell them about your new Porsche.
Harrison Andrews : Oh, I just got it.
Blair Warner : Candy-apple red, with his initials on the door.
Jo Polniaczek : [excited] Turbo-charged?
Blair Warner : Of course not! He paid cash.
-
Harrison Andrews : [girlfriend wears leather jacket] Blair...! You look...
Blair Warner : Adventurous? Unpredictable? Lawless?
Harrison Andrews : Ridiculous is the word that comes to mind.
Blair Warner : What do you mean?
Harrison Andrews : [chuckles] It's just not you, Blair. I mean, you're Harper's Bazaar, not Popular Mechanics.
