Anecdotes
When Bragan states he is leaving show business to enter politics, Capt. Parmenter says he "wouldn't be surprised if this didn't start a whole new trend." This was an inside joke as Ronald Reagan was running for Governor of California and would be elected two weeks after this show originally aired.

Gaffes
While talking to Cpl. Agarn, George Bragan says that he entered politics because vaudeville is on the decline. This show is set immediately after the Civil War and vaudeville did not become a recognized form of entertainment for at least another ten or fifteen years and did not lose its popularity until the Depression, making Bragan very far ahead of his time.
