- Archer decides he should pilot a kamikaze shuttle to destroy the Xindi weapon. Temporal agent Daniels urges him to reconsider.
- Enterprise has finally arrived at Azati Prime, the suspected location of the Xindi weapon, only to find it protected by a very sophisticated security grid. There's just one way to pass it, by using the Insectoid shuttle. Mayweather and Trip visit the planet and find out the weapon is indeed there. To destroy it the shuttle must be sent back for a one way trip. Mayweather and Trip are prepared, but Archer decides he should be the one to sacrifice himself. Then he gets a visit from crewman Daniels, the time agent. He tells why the Xindi want to destroy Earth and urges him to reconsider his decision.—Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)
- The Enterprise arrives in Azati Prime and finds that the location is protected by an impenetrable and complex security grid. Trip and Mayweather propose to use the Insectoid shuttle to cross the grid and investigate the exact location of the Xindi weapon. They find the compound underwater and return to the Enterprise where Archer assumes the responsibility to make a trip without return with the shuttle loaded with two torpedoes to destroy the facility. However, the time agent Daniels brings Archer to the future and tells him that the enemies of the Xindi are the trans-dimensional beings and Archer should convince the Xindi that humans are not the menace to their planet. Archer does not accept the argument, travels to Azati Prime but is captured and tortured. Without any other alternative, he manages to convince Degra and two other members of the council that he might be telling the truth, while the Enterprise is attacked by the Xindi reptiles—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Enterprise approaches Azati Prime where the Xindi are constructing their super-weapon. Archer can see Degra's ship approaching the system. Onboard, Degra is celebrating the completion of the weapon itself. Captain Archer sends Commander Tucker and Ensign Mayweather on board a Xindi shuttle they had just captured (Inside the Xindi ship with the hatchery) to investigate the planet. Working their way past security, they approach the weapon, which is being built underwater (The Xindi aqua species is in charge of the construction).
Meanwhile, Archer orders Enterprise to hide behind one of the planet's in the system. He then destroys a Xindi detection facility on the planet's moon to prevent it from signaling the ship's presence. The shuttle returns with scans of the weapon, and Archer designates himself to pilot a suicide mission to destroy it (Reed determines that 2 Photonic torpedoes set off in the explosion matrix of the weapon will set off a chain reactor and destroy it). The crew try to talk him out of it but he is resolute.
Archer then finds himself 400 years in the future on board the USS Enterprise-J, alongside Temporal Agent Daniels (Matt Winston). They are at the battle where the Sphere Builders (the alien species first seen in episode "Harbinger") are defeated by the Federation led by humans (They were altering the space to make it habitable for their species. it was a prelude to invasion). The aliens had tech to monitor time-lines and had seen this future, So they goaded the Xindi into attacking humans 400 yrs in the past. If the humans are extinct, the federation will never be formed and the aliens would have free run of the galaxy. Archer has to go back and make Xindi understand that humans are not the enemy. Daniels gives Archer an initiation medal from a Xindi who had joined Starfleet as temporal evidence. Back on his Enterprise, Archer rejects the notion of a Human-Xindi detente, and leaves on the shuttle. He arrives at the super-weapon construction site but finds it gone (The Xindi had figured that their lunar outpost is out of contact for 2 hrs and were on alert), and is rapidly captured by the Xindi Commander Dolim (Scott MacDonald).
Meanwhile Degra is worries about how history will view him and the Xindi, after they exterminate the humans. The Reptilians begin to interrogate Archer, who then asks to speak to Degra (Randy Oglesby), the Primate scientist from episode Stratagem. Using Daniels' medal, Archer tries to convince Degra that the Reptilians cannot be trusted (Archer convinces Degra that he has seen the future and tells Degra something very personal regarding his children that only Degra and his wife knew) (He also tells Degra about the spheres and how the Makers are using them to reconfigure the expanse for their own species) (he also talks about how the reptilians tried to build a bio-weapon to exterminate humanity in the past), but Dolim arrives with armed colleagues and takes the Primates away.
Degra wants to takes Archer and his evidence to the Xindi council. Meanwhile, Sub-Commander T'Pol, now in command of Enterprise, displays signs of an emotional breakdown. She also decides to go on a mission, to negotiate a peace with the Xindi, and reacts angrily when Tucker tries to stop her. An attack from four Xindi ships follows, and the episode concludes with a cliffhanger, as Enterprise is left severely damaged. Degra and council primates ask Dolim and the reptilians to call off the attack on the Enterprise.
