    What is the point anymore?

The first 3 seasons were fine. Sure, the characters were horrendous people, but the show had a special dinamic, cinematography, and was rooted in healthcare.

But since then the chatter of nurses were practicaly written out, so the whole thing sank to be just another doctors-show. And things went from the situation being hard and the tone being kinda melancholic to just everyone dying left and right, sinking into depression.

Even Spiderman, the world's most depressing character ever had the decency to wear colourful clothes. Thihs show lacks even that.

Carter ... the tie that binds

Noah Wyle's, Dr. Carter has survived Six Seasons of this show and his amazing acting culminates at the end of this season. Carter has become a central link that holds these people together but he's become dependent on painkillers. And after the horrific actions that occurred during the first half of the season, who could blame him, and yet his peers have ignored the signs. As Green even says "it's Carter, your mind just doesn't go there." But when forced to notice (and despite past issues with each other); Green, Weaver, Benton, Anspaugh and even Chen all work together to talk to their friend and co-worker and get him help. This season finale brings out the best in all of the actors in this ensemble, from the shared glances between the nurses to the action scenes surrounding the helicopter. It also proves that this show will last even without Clooney and Margulies. Next season should be interesting.

In the opening scene, the cop is played (in an uncredited role) by Randolph Mantooth, best known for playing paramedic John Gage on "Emergency!"
    • Goofs
Greene suggests to Weaver that they have Carter submit to a drug test, but Weaver says that Carter would test positive anyways because he is being prescribed an opioid for his back pain. The toxicology tests done at hospitals are able to distinguish between different kinds of a drug type, not just whether its an amphetamine or opioid but also which exact drug it is. Carter is being prescribed an oral opioid, likely hydrocodone or oxycodone, but is being accused of injecting fentanyl, which he is not being prescribed. An advanced toxicology panel can easily distinguish between the two, the test can show if he has just oxycodone in his system or both oxycodone and fentanyl, and it can even give an estimate of the dose taken and when it was taken.
