New season starts and new students are in the hospital. We get introduced to Lucy Knight when she discovers how the emergency room works and gets to see some upsetting things and make some mistakes.

I as also happy to see the other student, he doesn't seem to be getting a big role but he was played by Vince Vieluf whom I always remember from Friends episode (filmed about 4 years later), he was totally great in it and also did well on this show.

I must say I was slightly disappointed Lucy got assigned to Carter, I was hoping she will be working with Doug Ross who she had some interaction with in this episode, I thought they were leading it there.

A bad knight

The episode itself was was worthy of an 8 but the new character Lucy Knight played by Kellie Martin brought the watchability factor to an all time low. The number of actresses that could have played Lucy Knight far exceeds the number of episodes the Kellie Martin appeared in. This is not meant to be a bash Kellie Martin review but from her first appearance on the show she never looked or portrayed the role of a med student, all I could see was an incompetent candy striper. Being a T. V. series I was glad to see her go no matter what method was used. ( a gruesome murder was not necessary but it was effective for viewer shock value).
