Warning: Spoilers
This episode by far is THE BEST episode of ER, and the last 10 minutes of this episode is probably the TEN BEST MINS. During the end of the episode The ER is full in the waiting area as well as in the beds, so in order to get the job done Mark decides to treat everyone in the waiting room without charts or admissions. They take a cart of supplies out to the waiting room and treat their patients the way its supposed to be done - creatively. A child swallows a battery - and instead of ordering Xrays to find out where its gone - mark grabs a metal detector and passes it to carter. Carter passes it over the abdomen of the child and finds its in the intestines and so the patient would be fine. At the end of the episode Carter says when I started medical school thats what I thought it would be like - really helping people, mark answers with - thats what its supposed to be like. What are you going to do today Carter? - I don't know? what about you? I don't know? - and they walk back out into the rain. THIS EPISODE MADE me want to be a doctor even more. As a first yr medical student I hope this is what it could be like JUST for 1 day.

A Shift in the Night (#2.18)

Warning: Spoilers
Mark has to go on the fourth night shift in a row. And he is super cranky. Until at the end he ends up making it even faster by going into the waiting room and help people there which causes him to have more fun during his work.

This is one of those fast paced episodes without too many details about either case but where we just see them being thrown at the doctors and them dealing with it. Mark is pretty stressed out here, never saw him so mad before. And the patients don't help it. but at the end he finds out how to deal with it.

I am not a big fan of those cheesy message episodes, but Mark is an awesome character.
