Catherine Oxenberg is as near as dammit to being an actual princess. She was born the daughter of a princess. But never mind that. She could have been born in a back alley for all I care. Beauty, grace, charm, elegance, those are her middle names. The creme de la creme of Hollywood princesses.
In "Swept Away" I've twice encountered style inspirations for Youth Pop icons that were to emerge a couple years later. At about 11:06 into the episode, a look that struck home with songstress Mandy Smith (I JUST CAN'T WAIT but especially her look in BOYS AND GIRLS), and at 15:07, model and songstress Samantha Fox (TOUCH ME, though the charming "Swept Away" look isn't necessarily in her music videos). Catherine appeared in DYNASTY at a crucial time and inspired lots of blossoming youths in the right (gorgeous!) direction.
As for the episode? It might be a false report that the Gulf is mined, but what with a burning oil field and an oil spill of the coast of Santa Barbara, and a ColbyCo oil tanker that has run aground, you have another hectic day full of intrigue at Casa Carrington and ol' Alexis penthouse suite; the oil business sure is dirty. What the heck, sit back and watch the pretty young lady, just glad I've got her in ACAPULCO H.E.A.T. as well.
(My score of 8 is entirely influenced by The Lady)
