- Donna and Alex travel to spend a weekend with their friends who moved to a farm. In a precursor to "Green Acres" (without a cast of zanies), Millie (Pat Breslin) expresses concern that her husband is working too hard to maintain the farm, as well as how much she misses life in the city. An old horse named Duke, who appears to be on his last leg, is central to the second half of this pilot. At the point where Duke appears near death, David does enough to revive the old boy. Seeing David's enthusiasm, Millie decides farm life agrees with the entire family. One oddity: Jimmy Hawkins, who had earlier been featured as Mary's boyfriend Scotty, appears as a farmhand named Jimmy.—Steve Beverly
- This episode was a back door pilot that introduced the Stones' neighbors, the Adams, whom Donna and Dr. Alex Stone pay a visit after the family moved from Hilldale to a farm in the country to escape the rigors of living in the city. The episode stars William Windom ("The Farmer's Daughter") as David Adams and Patricia Breslin ("I Saw What You Did") as Millie Adams, David's long suffering wife who loathed life on a farm. Two juvenile brothers from Canada, Steve Barringer and his little brother Leslie, starred as the couple's two sons. The new series was to be a fish-out-of-water situation comedy to replace The Donna Reed Show after Reed had announced her intentions to retire from television. The new series was produced by Reed's then husband, Tony Owen, who also produced The Donna Reed Show. The episodes was not picked up as a series after Reed decided to not to retire and The Donna Reed Show continued to air for four additional seasons. The concept of city folk moving to the country was used again by rival studio Filmways as "Green Acres".—Steve Barringer
