The title of this episode is an allusion to the painting "September Morn" by Paul Chabas. This painting of a young woman bathing outdoors was considered scandalous when it was shown in the United States in 1913.
It is clearly understood by all who have seen this show that Laura's "October Eve" is a nude painting, yet the word "nude", "naked" or even "without clothing" is never used in the program - it's all done by reactions, interrupted sentences and innuendos.
This episode, along with the episode "My Blonde-Haired Brunette," was colorized and broadcast in December of 2017 by CBS.
On RLJ.com's pre-recorded DVD, [while Rob is in the artist's studio, he sees Mel Cooley & quickly calls his name, says Mel, you son of a gun.] But when closed captioning is turned on, the remark or quote, it appears as if he said "Mel, you son of a bitch!"
