- TriviaMichael Beck's character in this episode is named Frank Waldeck, after a crewman on Diagnosis Murder. Waldeck became a producer on another popular crime series, CSI: Crime Scene investigation, years later.
- GoofsAt the end of the episode (#5.4), Steve brings out a game called "mancala". Mark says (something along the lines of), "I think I know this game; I knew it as Nine Men's Morris" Nine Men's Morris is an entirely different game, played on a board of three concentric squares. It looks nothing like two rows of six depressions. And there are far fewer playing pieces.

Sloan Plays Wei-ch'i (Go) to beat criminal
In this episode Mark Sloan (Dick van Dyke) has to play Wei-ch'i (Weiqi), more commonly known as Go. He suspects bodyguard Frank Waldeck (Michael Beck) of not being all he seems and plays Go against him to try and suss his strategy. You can find out more about Go at usgo.org or britgo.org
As usual in the best episodes it features a beautiful woman patient who wants to get Mark to work for her, lots of wit and humour and mystery, as well as the odd dead body. Very clever use of Go strategy within the plot.
Excellent episode.
