I don't really watch Cold Case, but I happened to catch this episode, and let me say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well-done 'Best Friends' was. The actress who played Rose was amazing. It's so easy to be grating in a role like that, but she captured something so... indescribable in her portrayal... it was just, so inspiring. I hope to see her again in other things. And the poetry, the way it was directed too... I mean, top notch. I give this a 10.
As for the comments about "this whole 'don't hate me because I'm gay' thing is getting really old," I really don't think that exposing hatred and discrimination for what it is, is old, especially when people struggle still with it every single day. Discrimination is alive and well, and I applaud Cold Case for what they accomplished with this very sensitive, yet hard-hitting portrayal.

This is easily the best episode of Cold Case. It centers around two women who were best friends only one is dead, and one is alive. I won't spoil it but my GOD. The poetry in this episode, Tessa's acting, and the ending. You will bawl like a baby and you will fall in love with Billie Ducette.

This was always my favorite episode from the first time I saw it upon it's 1st airing and have seen it multiple times since. Always knew Tessa Thompson would be a star, such a well written, well acted episode all around.

Others have reviewed this episode and it a great story. However, I was wondering about the ages of the characters. This series is set in 2005. The case is from 1932. So Rose for example, was what, 16 maybe? That would make her born in 1916, So 89 when the cops speak to her? All the old characters seem pretty sharp. I hope my mind is sharp in my 90's.

I really want Georgie to be my neighbor. I wanna drink cocktails with her and hear all her stories.

Cold Case likes to tug at the viewers heartstrings, but this is one of the few episodes I can't watch without crying. Tessa Thompson plays her role brilliantly. No wonder it's one of the highest rated episodes.
