The boy on Norm's stool (Edward Joseph Derham) can be seen to be wearing a cast on his left hand. He had sprained his wrist between being cast and the showing up for filming. In his own words: "Between getting the job and the day of filming, I sprained my wrist playing street hockey. The producers were outraged that I decided to go with a bright blue and yellow Los Angeles Rams cast (you can see if you look real close). The producers wanted to take the cast off for filming but my mom didn't want my healing delayed, so they elected to cover it up as best they could."
