- For Frederick's second birthday, Sam takes him, and by association Frasier and Lilith, to a Nanny G concert, she being a famous children's entertainer. Woody tags along just because he loves Nanny G. Someone else unexpected once loved Nanny G as well. At the theater, Frasier is certain that he knows her from somewhere, and he finally figures out that she is really Nanette Guzman, his first wife about who he has never told Lilith. Frasier and Nanette married and divorced when they were very young - when Frasier was still in medical school - and he hasn't seen or thought about her since then. When Nanny G wanders through the audience, she instantly recognizes him, a fact Frasier, Lilith and the rest of the audience obviously realize when Nanny G passionately kisses Frasier. Lilith is angry, but Frasier and Nanette apologize to her. As an act of good faith, Nanny G offers to perform at Frederick's private birthday party. Lilith reluctantly lets it happen despite the fact that the emotions between Frasier and Nanette were once obviously very strong, and still very well may be. Frasier has to decide if Lilith or Nanny G is more important to him. Lilith and Nanny G may decide that for themselves.—Huggo
- Frederick Crane's 2nd Birthday is approaching, and Sam gets the Cranes tickets to see his Freddie's favorite singer: Nanny Gee! Frasier is not at all appreciative of seeing Nanny Gee, but is brought along at the insistence of Lilith.
It is during Nanny Gee's performance that Frasier receives a shock: in college, she was his first wife, Nanette Guzman! Needless to say, the rest of the concert does not go well for Frasier, with Lilith upset that she was never told about Nanette. Things get even worse when Nanny Gee wanders through the audience, and upon seeing Frasier, embraces and kisses him!
Lilith stews over this the next day, when Frasier brings Nanette by Cheers to apologize. To make amends, Nanette offers to do a special performance for Freddie's 2nd Birthday. Sam overhears this and convinces them to hold the event at Cheers, where every other person brings their children or some they know.
It is during the events that Lilith grows enraged when Nanette sings a song that seems directed at Frasier, and jumps on Frasier's former lover, wrestling her to the ground.
In the aftermath, Frasier suffers a head-wound from trying to break up the fight, but claims that it's admirable how Lilith fought for him. Also in their discussion, Lilith forgives Frasier for not telling her about Nanette.
Afterwards, Woody finds an unwrapped present left behind, and Frasier opens it to find a Nanny Gee doll. However, when the doll starts to sing, it begins to sing her telephone number. Realizing its Nanette's attempts to have Frasier continue to communicate with her, Lilith grabs the doll and rips the head off. However, the song is so catchy that Norm, Woody, and Cliff start singing...before Lilith rises from her bar stool and prepares to throttle them.
