The End of the Romance
claudio_carvalho13 April 2007
Prue and Piper cast a spell to summon and vanquish Belthazor, but they bring the demoniac bounty hunter Krell instead. Krell tells them that Belthazor killed The Triad and The Source ordered him to kill the demon. The sisters associate to Krell to chase and destroy Belthazor with their magic potion. Meanwhile, Phoebe tries to find Cole, and when she meets him, she sees that he is wounded and she asks Leo to heal him. When Prue and Piper disclose that Cole is Belthazor, Phoebe has to decide if she vanquishes or saves Cole.

"Sleuthinh With the Enemy" is another great episode of "Charmed". The impossible love of Phoebe and Cole comes to the end, with Phoebe finding that Cole really loves her and deciding the fate of Cole and consequently Belthazor. Her conflictive situation is the climax of this episode. My vote is eight.

The One Where Phoebe Finds Out That Cole Is A Demon...

Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. I love that everyone finally finds out that Cole is a demon. And not just any demon, the one they've been searching for, and who has been trying to kill them for so long.

In this episode, Prue, Piper and Phoebe all discover that Cole is a demon. Phoebe is devastated, obviously. She finds out after she cons Leo into healing Cole's wound. Which is in the exact same space that Piper cut Balthazar, and that only healed half-way. Because Leo can't heal demons, so he only healed his human-half. Piper and Prue are getting help from a demon bounty hunter who wants to collect Cole. They work together to try and vanquish him. In the end, Cole tells Phoebe all his deep dark secrets about his family, his mother being a demon and his father being human. And other stuff like that. And she, stupidly, I might add, pretends to vanquish him, so no one but her knows that he's still alive.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.

The enemy revealed

Warning: Spoilers
The exciting conclusion to the Belthazar trilogy where Phoebe and her sisters learn who Cole really is. I like the subtle details of Cole not wanting to see Phoebe hurt or him drawling away when he decides to end her life showing love is stronger them hate. Cole's convincing words that he's half human and wants to be with her sounds like it was taken straight from Passions, but I tear up every time wanting it to work out. When he saved her life from the bounty Hunter after him I was truly convinced he had changed and was like a knight saving his lady fair.

My only quarrel is Phoebe faking his death and lying to her sisters. All through the seasons the sisters have gained new information or had life changing events and always shared it between the three of them. They learned what effects one of them effects them all and keeping a big secret like This feels like a step back. Sure they would be mad at first for letting him go, but it would strengthen the trust and bond between them in the long run.

One of my favorite twists and turns in the series that's anything but ordinary. I wish it had always stayed this good.

Rip off of Angel/Buffy

Charmed is pushing hard at this point to capitalize on the popularity of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This show is clearly trying to have Cole play the role of the conflicted evil one with a good side in a love affair with a slayer. A big difference is Buffy (the character and the show) had the guts to kill Angel. Of course BTVS had superior plots, writing, directing, and acting.
