The One Where Billie Figures Out That They're The Charmed Ones...
taylorkingston8 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. I love the arrival of Billie. She's one of my all time favorite episodes.

In this episode, teenagers are being kidnapped by demons and made to go crazy, saying things like, Madhatter and all things Alice In Wonderland. The demons take people with names similar to Alice, such as Alison and Alister. They take Billie when she tracks them down, and the Charmed Ones save her, and vanquish the demons. The demons are at least happy that they found out the truth about the sisters. Billie is happy that she also discovered the truth. And finds out that Paige is the one who has been helping her and who is also her whitelighter. Billie tells them that she'll vanquish the demons and warlocks, if they teach her everything they know about witchcraft. It's a pretty good deal. They get to stay demon-free and never have to fight anything evil, and show Billie how to do it instead. Unfortunately, they don't stay demon-free for long.

Overall, I give this episode an 8 out of 10.

whats with being negative ya i know... Warning: Spoilers
maybe not the best episode but not the worst, the sisters are trying to figure out living more of a normal life, after living through hell and losing more than most ever have to think about beside loved ones and innocents dying and friendships not being able to really maintain them because of all the battles (keeping them safe from all they see/do with vanquishing evil) so ya some of it is well corny, and hey when they could have died for real they choose to live,...buying things trying to fig out how to relax an have fun an be...billy coming in to the show as someone who was like them at the beginning of the series (well phoebe mostly as she was excited about the who adventure of being a witch), so they can teach her (as stated at end of last season teach the next gen), oh ya they had to pretty much learn on their own an billy really did want to be taught by them (later christy her sis says it was the other way around with the charmed ones being the evil as they didn't want to do their job as good witches an made billy do what they were suppose to do)...and as our own life/ves change an grow, don't we all get lost at times too??!!

Why Malice in Wonderland?
hellomissie26 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Why not call it Charmed & the City? Though it honestly didn't do any favors for Sex & the City or Alice in Wonderland. Phoebe's/Alyssa's crappy Carrie imitation voice-over was cringe worthy at best; it's possibly the most annoying tone of voice she's used since Enter the Demon when Alyssa did a subpar job pretending to be Paige pretending to be Phoebe. Just when I was starting to get into the average plot it was ruined by that horrible voice-over. Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie voice-over almost always helps the story along in one way or another and can be clever and funny when needed. Alyssa Milano's Carrie imitation voice-over distracted from the plot and made me want to stop watching the episode all together.

Unfortunately this being the first time I've seen the episode I didn't know which parts to fast forward through like I do in Nymphs Just Wanna Have Fun.

Though I wonder if it might have been even worse for Jason Lewis to watch the final product since he actually was in Sex & the City. His character Dex didn't really bug me, he was mostly just a new prop for Phoebe to obsess over and generally be her often annoying self. It also makes zero sense that Phoebe came down on Paige for pursuing the Billie thing while at the same time getting herself hired for the position that she lost due to faking her own death. Then again Phoebe's proved multiple times throughout the series that she is a hypocrite.

The Alice in Wonderland thing was awful, though mostly because of the female demons bad acting and the poor special effects.

Side Note: In real life you shouldn't prove you're capable of being a police officer by attacking the recruiting officer, because you will most likely be arrested no matter how condescending he was to you.

Hmmm...on second thought maybe I should have given this episode 3 stars instead of 4.

The worst of the series
robertocalvo8810 June 2006
And when I say the worst one is the worst one. Oh my god! Everything was so messed up, Phoebe's voice-over ripping off Sex and the City (or even Desperate Housewives), the Alice in Wonderland rip-off, the laughable effects when Billie is trapped in the tales, the female demon, the flow of the episode, everything was so wrong (and boring, by the way) And Jason Lewis could go to hell, I mean, the character, because it's painfully hard to see him more than 3 minutes. He's not worst than Nick Lachey though.

It was so bad that I couldn't resist and fast forward it, I mean, skip it until the end. "Nymphs just wanna have fun" or "Lucky Charmed" were bad, but they had redeeming points, this steaming pile of crap and Brad Kern deserve to go to hell (he wrote it)

What was that?...

Some things never change. I always find myself stuck and unable to enjoy the season, at that point. Shall I stop or continue watching? The premiere is undeniably good, and makes up for all the reservations some may have regarding this finale year. Then this episode happens. Billie, whom I found useless the first time I saw those episodes, don't bother me as much now. Phoebe does. Everything not involving her in Malice in Wonderland, is good. And that pitiful attempt at paying homage to SATC, is a disgrace. I also failed to see how relevant that direction was to the episode, and the show's tone in general. But having Michael Trevino in one of if his early roles, is a nice excuse to watch this dreadful episode.
