Moment of Decision
claudio_carvalho25 July 2007
Phoebe is irritated with the lack of attention of Cole and destroys five of his demons in a couple of days. She has a premonition of a demon killing the innocent Greg Conroy, she tells her sisters at the Halliwell manor and together they go to an alley and save Greg Conroy. However, when Phoebe spares the demon, Piper tells that she must take a side and Phoebe decides to stay with Cole. When Cole is pressed in the underworld to kill Greg, Phoebe has to decide which side she should stay: in the evil side with Cole or in the good side with her sisters.

In this episode, Phoebe needs to pick a side, and her feelings divided between the man she loves and her sisters is manipulated by the tonic that The Seer gives to her. The last scene with the three sisters together on the bed is very beautiful. My vote is seven.

The Queen of the underworld

Warning: Spoilers
Phoebe now takes her position as Queen and finds herself missing her old life with her sisters and taking up the mantle to rule the underworld next to Cole's side. In a way it feels like a metaphor for an abusive relationship as her husband tries to break contact with loved ones, change who Phoebe use to be and starts arguments over the inner struggle she's feeling. I love the empowerment Phoebe feels as she breaks free from her chains as she plans to leave him and with the help of her supportive sisters has the strength to face him one last time to out her demons away. As she feels the weight of guilt and love for Cole the ep ends on a touching moment as they comfort her and shows time will heal all wounds.

Another aspect is how her sisters see the situation from their point of view watching the person they love become a different person. They already lost one sister to evil now another who knows how destructive it can be and yet can't see the error of her ways. Instead of judging her they show how different paths are open and would gladly welcome her back with open arms. This is why I love this show because instead of condemning a person for who they are the road to redemption is always open and no matter what happens family will stand by your side no matter what.
