I always preferred the second half of season 5 anyway...

Warning: Spoilers
First half of season 5 was mostly a re-reading of old seasons storylines, fitting the current charmed ones lives. Episodes 8 to 11, were decent fillers, in which one brought old characters and the episode's musical guest, that's been missing lately. The Cole/Phoebe love story was character's assassination to both parties involved. It turned Phoebe into the biggest phony, when she was acting all high and mighty, after bringing a demon into her family's lives, turned out to be exactly how her siblings said it would. And she became a famous advice columnist, when she was incapable of taking into accounts her own loved ones warnings... As far as Cole is concerned « Centennial Charmed » was good at putting an end to this madness, bringing back the seer and next season's big vilain, the Avatars. As well as getting Michelle Branch to perform at P3. Putting him out of his misery, was a blessing to both the character, and viewers alike... « House Call » is the show back to its most appealing trait. I was getting sick of the Alyssa Milano show, so it was a nice way to have the storyline focus on the sisters again, and how they react to the « spell of the moment ». It's funny, entertaining and can be interpreted in different degrees, which the show stopped doing since the beginning of season 5. It's the first genuinely good episode of the season, and brought back the « old » Charmed magic again.

Hexes and Ohs

Warning: Spoilers
House Call has a witch doctor visiting the house when it seems to be full of poltergeist. Thinking the Charmed ones are evil he steals personal items and hex them into becoming obsessed over what they really want. I enjoyed this episode for the humor involved where Phoebe turns Spencer Ricks into a turkey, Piper makes the house disappear before freaking out once she realizes Phoebe's still inside, and Paige pretending to be Jessica so she can marry Glenn. Still the plot only has one big flaw in its attempts at humor which is the witch doctor turning them into the evil he feared. Why not monitor their activities to see what side they reside on and hasn't he heard of their reputation or is it so fickle in the magical community that any sign of trouble is drowned upon.

Another factor is I feel bad for Paige losing the man she loved most. They shared a rich history, accepted her secret and were cute together. It broke my heart to watch her see them walk down the alter together and see it as a metaphor of how upset she was. I'm glad they remained friends, but wanted them together and planning a future like Piper & Leo.
