This was pretty fun, with some excellent camera work during car chases and helicopter stunts. Some nice first person POV shots too. The plot revolves around a radio reporter who's being stalked and shot at by a potential killer because he was upset by one of her exposes. The reporter is played by Linda Dano, who went on to have a long career as a soap opera actress.
The Angels go undercover at the news station, each playing various roles. Kelly as a decoy for the reporter herself, Sabrina as the helicopter reporter teamed up with a gung ho pilot who is considered a a suspect. Kris goes undercover as an.... er..... undercover reporter. A guess that makes her a double undercover? Bosley works at the station as a desk manager.
Four suspects are investigated, the first three eliminated over the course of an hour, including the helicopter pilot, who ends up aiding Sabrina when she has to save Kelly from an attack. As stated, the helicopter shots are fantastic, seemingly sparing no expense, and are reminiscent of the great aerial shots from the UFO episode with the 'red baron' crop duster plane.
Kris has a great turn as a motorcycle girl investigating an ex-con who's set up out in the desert with a bunch of cult followers. Initially he gives off Charles Manson type vibes but we soon discover he's more bark than bite, and is more interested in kick-starting his acting career.
A third suspect (a wife beater) is eliminated during a quick scene with Kelly when we're told he died. Eventually it comes down to a scene with Sabrina and a college professor who was upset about losing grants due to the reporter exposing his corruption. The professor uses one of the worst 70's tropes ever.... TRUTH SERUM, to get Sabrina to admit she's a detective and the professor is now the prime suspect.
Thankfully, Bosley, Kelly and Kris dash to the college campus to save Sabrina, the episode ending with Kelly catching the professor after an extended chase sequence through the college campus.
Overall and enjoyable episode.
