Season Opens With First Of A Two-Parter

Two 20-something immoral couples, who only know each other through eye contact in a bar, go up to a room for some sex. The next morning the maid comes in and discovers a dead woman with her throat cut. The room was registered to some 75-year-old woman and was right next to the exit door.

A short time later, one of the guys is found in the driver's seat in a parking ramp dead with his throat cut. It turns out the victims are husband and wife and that the husband might have killed the wife. Is so, who killed the husband?

Later, the body count rises. The other couple is also found killed. What is going on here? Serial killers?

Everyone is on this case....and it's "to be continued" next week.

    But Why?

The fourth season begins with some questions answered. First of all, it is obvious that Grissom has solved his hearing problem. Secondly, Catherine's pappy manages to squeeze out of jail--again. The case involves a couple of serial killers who, for some reason, lure young couples to their hotel rooms for sex and then kill them. Since there is no clear reason other than a thrill, it is hard to convict them. This is a two parter and the first ends with a remarkable discovery.

    The Couple Killer

When the maid of a fancy hotel in a casino finds a woman with the throat slit in a room, the CSI team investigates the case. They note that the woman is not in her room, her throat was "gently" slit and her husband is missing. While investigating, Nick meets an old schoolmate that is a valet and talks too much about the case that appears in the news. The CSI team finds her car in the parking lot with her husband dead inside. Soon they are summoned to a crime with the same MO in a cheap motel, but the body of the husband inside an ice machine. They conclude that husbands are forced to kill their wives by a sick serial-killer. Their further investigation shows a couple that might be the killer, and they seek them out.

"Assume Nothing" is another great episode of "CSI" to be continue. The plot is sexy and intriguing and when I appears that the case is resolved, there is a twist that will be probably resolved in the next episode. Unfortunately I have not seen the Third Season. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "Não Assuma Nada" ("Assume Nothing")

Note: On 26 December 2022, I saw this episode again.

[Brass is talking to a hotel guest who witnessed a couple argument]

Captain Jim Brass: What time was that?

      Hotel Guest: 10.35

Captain Jim Brass: 10.35? You seem to be pretty sure about that.

Hotel Guest: Well I... I just ordered a pay-per-view movie and it was just about to begin.

Captain Jim Brass: Oh yeah? Which one was that?

Hotel Guest: [Hesitating] Am I get it on?

Captain Jim Brass: You mean Armageddon.

Hotel Guest: No. Am I get it on?

      [pause, then gets it]

      Captain Jim Brass: Good movie?

      Hotel Guest: Worked for me.
