Despite being involved in a violent bar fight and taking several punches to the face, neither Poncherello nor Nelson show any injuries the following morning at the station.
Poppy is collecting donations for her sick owner when she spots the two cattle rustlers, and the donated money is in her right hand, yet when she goes back to Ponch and Bobby's table to alert them that she has identified the thieves, there's nothing in her hands. Where did the money go?
When Poncherello and Nelson are first seen, they are riding on a two lane road with a double yellow center line. In the following scenes, they are on a four lane divided highway with broken while lane division lines.
After the rustler's pickup flips over into the creek, the positions of the officers changes- Nelson with the tan gloves goes from the officer next to the creek to the officer on the far side.
When the animal-control agents open the back of their truck to get Poppy the orangutan out, there are no cages in the back of the truck. No wild animal would be allowed to ride, unrestrained, in the back of the truck. It could become injured, or it could escape quite easily (as it does) when the doors are opened.
The CHP would not investigate the theft of cattle. Any information would be turned over to local law enforcement.
The idea of using an animal as a witness for suspect identification is a gross error, as the animal could not be called into court to testify. This differs from animals such as drug dogs, which perform a non-testimonial function. Additionally, the CHP would not transport an animal on a police motorcycle for liability purposes. It could fall off and the agency would be liable for damages.
The legs of the orangutan were too short to hold up the motorcycle when it was stopped.
The actions taken at the Palomino Club by Nelson and Poncherello regarding Mr. Davis would constitute entrapment.
In the first crash, the same ramp car is used here as in prior episodes. After the second car goes up and over it, the ramp is visible on the rear of the car.
When Poncherello is talking to Nelson while the bull is running loose, a police car drives past in the background. Since they were the only officers present and the car was not shown again, this was likely an actual police car used for traffic control.
When Bobby and Ponch enter the Palomino Club, there is a man ostensibly playing an arcade game, yet although he is moving his hands over the controls, the game is in attract mode (it's displaying the high scores), meaning that it's not actually being played.
Although Poncherello was the first to approach, when the pickup driver is to be treated by the ambulance attendants, the glass in front of the pickup has been swept into a neat line so the actors could have easy access to the area. Additionally, the glass shown is side window glass, not the safety glass from the windshield, which is missing.
In the close-up shot when the orangutan is on the back of the motorcycle, it is clear the motorcycle is not moving as the animal's fur is not being blown by the wind.
Poncherello calls in the first crash as being on the westbound Simi freeway at the Desoto Avenue off ramp. The road shown was not a freeway, as there are no sidewalks or areas to turn as were present on the road used. Additionally, that area would be patrolled by the Woodland Hills CHP station, which is located on DeSoto Ave.
Nelson passes himself and Poncherello off at the Palomino Club as an out of town rancher and his foreman, yet a couple of days earlier both had been involved in a bar fight there after Poncherello identified himself as a CHP officer, so they would both be known to patrons as cops. Additionally, both singers acknowledged the bar fight while looking at Nelson and Poncherello, so that would prove they were not new to the club as Nelson had mentioned.
It is well established the Ponch is an expert in karate, yet during the bar brawl, he doesn't use any karate moves or stances, and he gets beat up far too easily for someone who is supposedly an expert in self-defense.
Grossman tells Getraer that his exercise regimen will reduce his abdominal girth (waist) by 65 percent. While he is noticeably overweight, even if his girth were 50 inches, a 65 percent reduction would result in an impossible 17.5 inches.
