It all starts with Henry Gibson playing a vindictive judge who forces a landlord in the ghetto to debase himself. The man is brutalized with a bottle but the judge doesn't care. Humiliating people is his thing. Meanwhile, a man who can't afford another conviction is shot holding up a store but refuses to have the bullet removed because it will convict him. It brings conflict among associates Oh, and Crane wants to have sex with a woman with a wooden leg.
