    A Friend in Need

The second episode of The Bill and you see more focus on the relationship between DI Galloway and Sgt Cryer. They bicker, argue and begrudgingly respect each other as well.

The argument is over some potentially racially motivated bomb threats. The Home Office and Carver take it seriously. Galloway thinks it is a prank. They even place a bet on it.

It is still the wide eyed PC Carver who ends up in the middle of a scandal. He goes easy on a drunk just released from the cells and Carver is later accused of stealing his wallet. A very serious accusation against a police officer.

Galloway and Cryer get together to help the lad out, however fate intervenes to lend Carver a hand in the nick of time.

James Wilby appears as a posh probationary officer seconded to Sun Hill. Actress and comedienne Meera Syal makes a fleeting appearance.
