This was....um, a different kettle of fish from any other 1st season episode; or, from ANY other episode.
The writers were new to me....and it did not bode well in seeing that the story was written by two people, then rewritten for the screen by a third.
I'm a big fan of Arte Johnson, and thought he did a good job as an elf and family member of Sam's....it's just that the "feel" of a Bewitched episode was missing. Perhaps because it relied too much on slapstick gags?
Ah well, on to season 2!
