The title is a nod to the film "A Majority of One", starring Rosalind Russell and Alec Guinness, which has a similar story line. The film also uses a Western actor (Guinness) to play a Japanese man.
Reginald Owen played Ockie, Aunt Clara's longtime boyfriend, in two previous episodes. He doesn't appear in this episode, but talks to Clara over the phone.
At the airport, the fictional Yamato Airways logo was also used later on The Great Casino Robbery: Part 2 (1969).
Aunt Clara's Japanese crush, "Mr. Mishimoto", was played by British (caucasian) actor Richard Haydn, who also provided the voice for the hookah-smoking Caterpillar in the Walt Disney animated classic "Alice in Wonderland". You may remember the haughty caterpillar's inquiry to Alice: "Whoooo are yoooou?"
