When Talia is testing her "gift", there is a shot of a penny on the table with the words "one cent" bracketed by wreaths facing up. Later, when the shot returns to the penny, the bust of Lincoln (the opposite side of the coin) is facing up.
Jason Ironheart explains he was given "mutated" serotonin and acetylcholine. In order for something to mutate, it requires the presence of DNA. Both of these chemicals are neurotransmitters and contain no DNA, so they can't mutate.
