The musical Darling family descends upon Mayberry again. This time they are looking for a husband for Charlene's new baby daughter. Things get complicated when they choose Opie and refuse to take no for an answer.

The Darlings ride into town with Charlene toting her new baby. Briscoe announces they are searching for a young boy to become legally engaged to the little one. After some searching of the town, they show up at Andy's house to "do some picking," and discover Opie. They Darlings decide that Opie is the one and will not be convinced otherwise, no matter what Andy tries. Barney is over in the corner sipping on mulberry squeezins, and is getting so tipsy he is of no help. Finally Andy figures out a scientific trick to convince the Darlings that Opie would not be suitable.—Don Payette

The Darling clan descends on Mayberry with daughter Charlene new baby girl. Andy is surprised to learn that they are there to find the newborn a betrothed, as is their custom. They search high and low but can't find anyone suitable. After dinner however, they realize they have the perfect candidate: Opie. Andy objects strenuously but Briscoe Darling has made up his mind and nothing will change it. A bit of quick thinking on Andy's part - and a trick from Opie's science book - saves the day.—garykmcd
