Doyle dreams of a life on Andromeda
Tweekums28 August 2018
Doyle may have appeared in the previous episode as what then appeared to be a 'throw-away' character but this episode serves to give her a more substantial introduction suggesting she will be becoming a regular character. As the episode opens she is suffering from nightmares about events on Andromeda... rather odd as she has never stepped foot on Andromeda. Harper tries to reassure her about the nature of dreams. Shortly afterwards she rescues Argent, a stranger who is being attacked in an alleyway. She sustains an injury and, although she sees blood, it is plain that something else is leaking out... she is an android. Argent argues with Harper that Doyle has the right to know about what she is. Meanwhile Dylan and Rhade are aboard Andromeda while Beka uses the Eureka Maru to tow them to an area where a slipstream event was detected; they are attacked and attempt to take cover in an asteroid field... then suddenly they find themselves in an unknown area of space!

This was a solid episode that gave us a good introduction to Doyle; given how easily she rescues Argent it is no real shock to discover that she isn't human. The way she deals with these revelations is well handled. Argent is an interesting character; initially a victim but he quickly becomes an antagonist as he first argues with Harper about Doyle then later when he reveals his true colours. The events back on Andromeda, and the Maru, provide some good exciting moments and ultimately the two storylines are nicely linked in ways that weren't obvious too soon. Overall a solid episode.
