WHY was this show axed??

Warning: Spoilers
Was truly crushed when I read this was going to be the last episode of this truly amazing series. Not once did this show produce a bad episode. How many series can say this about their first season?? We get to see Cathy and Matt to share a kiss, a real fan pleaser only for their relationship to go askew later, left unresolved. This episode later saw several prominent Newcomers dying from what appeared to be a genetically manufactured weapon. The tension between Matt and George was great viewing as George receives a promotion to Detective 2! The story progressed, we got a look into the Purist Front's headquarters and their hatred for the Newcomers. The casting for this is typical Alien Nation, always spot on. 'Ms Purist', Brant, the leader of the organisation is excellent in her role. The scene near the end of this is heartbreaking as George's family are infected and it is left wide open for a follow up only to be canceled. This series had all the stories, actors and premises to be one of the longest running and greatest series of all time. In my opinion still is, even after one season and five bloody good movies. Thank the powers that be for the excellent 'Dark Horizon' follow up to this brilliant episode...

Why did they cancel such a groovy show!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I, too, was very disappointed that "Alien Nation" only lasted one season, and we had to wait until it came back to us in TV-movies, which were alright by my standards, but it just wasn't the same. It was like a great era in T.V. entertainment was coming to an end. I know, I know, that last part sounds kind of corny, but you have to admit, there is a certain bit of logic in that remark, if you'll excuse the axiom.

Anyways, as long as we're talking about this popular show, this gives me the opportunity to ask that all-important question: Is there chance that someone might be thinking of remaking this show? I mean, again it's only logical that this show gets remade, since I've that a lot of other old shows are being remade. I'm only asking for curiosity's sake, but if they do decide to re-air it in a new format, I'm all for it. And hopefully, it will turn out better than the original, and it will last longer than one season, maybe even two or seasons. Now, can I get an amen on that?
