When the old tyrant of a hall monster leaves, Jimmy is picked as his replacement. /In order to get his new chemistry set right away, Jimmy hypnotizes his parents.

Hall Monster When Chuck Lester, the school hall monitor, moves to Greece, Ms. Fowl draws a name out of a hat to determine the next hall monitor. When Jimmy's name is pulled out, he believes it to be the worst job ever. When Jimmy learns that he can cause trouble according to Libby, the power goes to his head and gets out of control by being cruel to everyone.

After his father reminds him not to get out of control, Jimmy says the password accidentally to make Goddard reveal the video surveillance and sees what he's been doing all along and tries to resign his duties as a hall monitor, but Ms. Fowl states that hall monitors have to be fired if they break the rules. Jimmy then breaks the rules on purpose to be demoted. Sheen is then picked as the new hall monitor and is called the Ultra Monitor.

Hypno Birthday to You Jimmy uses his Hypno-beam to hypnotize his parents into thinking it is his birthday the next day, because he wanted a newer chemistry kit that contained what he needed in order to create a new Hyper Cube. The hypnotism doesn't wear off, and he so his parents believe his birthday is every day.

After many birthdays, the clown accidentally destroys the Hypno-beam with a hammer. When he does this, Jimmy's parents are no longer hypnotized, however, to teach him a lesson they don't reveal this until after they tell Jimmy that he is having his 18th birthday and he has to leave the house for college, and have him confess to why he hypnotized them. Unfortunately, however, the clown charges a hefty fee to the Neutrons for all of the birthday parties and Jimmy is punished by having to work off the fee by cleaning the floors at school for the rest of the summer.
