I had to come here and comment on this after seeing it. This show is often a fairly typical sitcom that plays it quite safe but enjoyable due to the very relatable and incredibility likable characters. So while I rate the show quite highly I'd never put it in my top 10 sitcoms for humour.

This episode, though, is a comedy masterclass. It's a farce but played out so well. The first half of the episode hits all the beats of the other episodes, but what it's doing is cleverly setting up so many little things that pay off much later. The grandad wanting pie, Bridget using CJ's ID and so many other setups. It feels like a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode, something is mentioned seemingly in passing or for a quick gag at the start to set up a pay off later on. But, there are so many different threads here that all (mostly) sync up at the end it's beautiful.

Yes, there you have to suspend disbelief on why the cop shows up. Wasn't he busy in a club? How did he know the address? Did he look it up using the phone number? But, I'll let it off because the payoff works.

The writers deserve applause for this one, well done!
