During the date scene between Kevin and Michelle, they talk about the George A. Romero film Dawn of the Dead (1978), and mention actor Ken Foree who appeared in both versions of the zombie classic. Foree is also the star of Black Santa's Revenge (2007), which was written, produced and directed by 'Damaged Goods' creator David F. Walker.
There is also the George A. Romero film Night of the Living Dead (1968) playing on the TV in Kevin's apartment when he comes home with the fast food.
The majority of the crew all worked on Monday Night Gig (2005), also produced by C.K. Lichenstein II, which had just wrapped principal photography a few weeks before Damaged Goods (2005) began filming.
The scene with Lloyd Kaufman was written just a few days before shooting. Lloyd Kaufman ended up ad-libbing most of the scene, of which the full, uncut versions can be seen on the DVD.
Poster's at Kevin's apartment include The Toxic Avenger (1984) which was written and directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Two Fisted (2004) which was written and directed by Damaged Goods (2005) cinematographer Todd E. Freeman.
