20th Century Studios released Alien: Romulus, and The Asylum – as is their modus operandi – was right there with their mockbuster Alien Rubicon, but those who mistake Alien Rubicon for Alien: Romulus are likely to be quite upset because, despite the presence of aliens, these are very different films.
Astrobiologist Dr. Jeff Morrow, is planning on using his days off to take his kids, Leanne (Neeley Dayan) and Adam camping. Unfortunately, a brief stop at his lab puts an end to those plans when Adam detects a huge sphere approaching Earth from the same area his father detected a strange transmission a year or so ago.
On orders of President McCoy Dr. Morrow is brought in to help figure out what it is and what to do about it. But...

For as long as Tekashi 6ix9ine has been in the public eye, he’s been embroiled in significant controversy and legal issues, including beef with an extensive list of rappers such as 50 Cent, Trippie Redd, Chief Keef and Ludacris, and an equally notable arrest record.
The trolling rapper took the internet by storm in the late 2010s as a major streaming act with platinum hits including breakout single “Gummo” and the Nicki Minaj collaborations “Fefe” and “Trollz,” but in recent years, controversies like his 2018 racketeering arrest – and subsequent...

The devoted culture warriors dedicated to taking Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” to the top of the charts appear to have already grown bored of the song as it plummeted from Number One to Number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week.
Last week, the song topped the Hot 100, several months after its initial release in April, and following the arrival of a controversial music video that critics — from the country music world to academia — said promoted white nationalism and painted protests against racial injustice as lawless and violent.

It has been a big year for hip-hop and R&b, with multiple career breakthroughs as well as returning favorites. So as we come closer to the American Music Awards ceremony on November 22, let’s take a look at the artists awards for these chart-topping genres.
SEE2020 American Music Awards predictions: Justin Bieber, BTS and Bad Bunny among front-runners in artist races
Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist – Male
This category could go multiple ways. Roddy Ricch probably had the biggest year out of the three, earning an Artist of the Year nomination, having multiple number-one hits, and releasing a number-one debut album, “Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial.” DaBaby also had a pretty strong year, and his chart-topper “Rockstar” (featuring Ricch) is a bigger hit than most of his competition has released.
However, the late Juice Wrld has a passionate fan base, and sympathy over his untimely passing last December at...

Superproducer Mike Will Made It has released a new song, “What That Speed Bout?!” boasting verses from Nicki Minaj and Youngboy Never Broke Again.
The track finds Mike Will crafting a hard-hitting rhythm section on top of which sits a bunch of squirming synths that lend the beat a hypnotic quality. Both Youngboy Never Broke Again and Minaj are in fine form, peeling off plenty of delightfully outrageous bars, with Youngboy even pulling off a clever rhyme of “Forgiato shoes” and “Blues Clues.”

A$AP Ferg, Nicki Minaj and Atlanta rapper MadeinTYO are here with the hottest indoor workout of the summer. The trio have teamed up for a new song, “Move Ya Hips,” released on Thursday with a video styled after late-night fitness infomercials.
Although this is technically an A$AP Ferg track, and MadeinTYO raps the hook, Nicki has the most extensive verse out of the three of them, kicking off with a Juice reference and ending with a shoutout to Rogue from X-Men. In between, she squeezes in some of...

DaBaby and Roddy Ricch’s “Rockstar” enjoyed its third non-consecutive week at Number One on the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs chart. The single picked up 26 million more streams, maintaining a comfortable chart lead over Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé (17.7 million streams) and Imanbek’s remix of Saint Jhn’s “Roses” (13.9 million).
The influence of the app TikTok was particularly obvious during an otherwise quiet release week for new singles. “Rockstar” has been used in close to three million TikTok videos; “Savage” in 27.5 million; “Roses” in 3.3 million. Four...

Michael Emanuel has ordered up his human buffet.
The actor-producer has cast Dean Cain, Conrad Janis ("The Cable Guy"), Stephen Lunsford ("Bratz"), Walter Phelan ("House of 1000 Corpses"), Maximillian Roeg ("7th Heaven") and Lacy Phillips ("Pushing Twilight") in his directorial debut, "Maneater."
Emanuel's Canal Street Films is producing, and Eric Lewald ("Trollz") is executive producing.
The horror thriller about a former FBI profiler and small-town sheriff investigating mysterious murders is derived from a Native American legend. Emanuel, repped by Aka, also wrote the screenplay with John K. Anderson.
"Maneater" is the second in a slate of 10 movies that Canal Street is producing with independent financing; the first was "The Uninvited," which is seeking a distributor.

Actor-producer Michael Emanuel is in preproduction on the thriller "Maneater."
Emanuel, a film and TV actor who has appeared on "ER" and "The Nine," co-wrote the script with John K. Anderson and will make the film his directorial debut. Eric Lewald ("Trollz") is executive producing.
"Maneater" tells the story of an FBI profiler-turned-small-town sheriff who begins investigating a series of mysterious murders only to discover that the monster he's profiling might be himself.
"It's a story that was told to me by an old Native American back in the late '70s," Emanuel said. "It's based on the Western Ojibwa (Chippewa) legend of the Windigo."
"Maneater" is the second in a slate of 10 movies that Emanuel's Canal Street Films is producing with independent financing. It begins shooting July 30 around Los Angeles, though the producers are still casting the leads.
Emanuel, who is repped by Aka, most recently produced the horror film "The Uninvited," which is wrapped and out to distributors.
