My Review Of "Alien Agenda: Project Grey"
ASouthernHorrorFan15 April 2013
"Alien Agenda: Project Grey" is a sci-fi/horror film directed by Christian Blaze and Crystal-Dawn Rosales. The film stars Christian Blaze, Justin Stillwell, Allison Warnyca and T.J. Riley. "Project Grey" tells the story of four friends who go away for some weekend fun at a secluded cabin by a lake. It is a tale of psychological terror where fear rules the agenda as aliens seek to manipulate and experiment on one of the young weekenders. The film first released in 2007 and has now found it's home at Reality Entertainment.

"Alien Agenda: Project Grey" is a story that blurs the line between what is real and what it delusion as it opens to a criminally insane patient talking about his experience with a Dr. Schroder. This film deals with every thing from mind control, government conspiracy, Russian military and alien abduction in a very twisted and thin plot that is barely maintained. The movie does manage to express an almost surreal atmosphere steeped in despair when playing the different possible scenarios. Trust me there are a few plots playing out in this movie. Even if it is weak and seems to be made up on the spot throughout the film it does managed to hold together long enough for the surprise twist at the end. ( A twist that you can figure out about half way through the story.) The Russian military subplot is almost lost in this film and seems as if it were added as an after thought. That aside the story of the four vacationers is deep and emotional and filled with melodrama that held my attention.

In the end "Alien Agenda; Project Grey" seems to be a film that needed more thought and time to mature before production began but none the less it manages to tell a descent story. Unfortunately there was not much else within the film that backed this fact up. The acting was less than amateurish and seems convoluted. The special effects where the big "wow" is concerned, (the aliens), is so cheap and CGI that it seems cartoonish and lame. Anyone seeking to watch this movie should go in with very little expectation in order to make it all the way through. With that in mind then see the movie if you're set on it but skip it otherwise.

EVERY TRUTH HAS A SHADE OF GREY

Warning: Spoilers
This is a sci-fi film for conspiracy theory buffs. Unfortunately they don't tie it all together too well until a Revelation like ending which made me groan at the primitive writing. The story basically follows Chris (Christian Blaze- co-director, co-writer, executive producer, editor, visual effects producer ) and Justin (Justin Stillwell). Following the death of his sister (Rae-Ann Dillman) Justin decides to ask Allie (Allison Warnyca) to marry him. Allie was Chris' former girlfriend. Justin is considered to be a bit unstable as he claims as a child aliens abducted him and gave him a mark on his forearm....and the plot includes the Russians and Justin (call me Chris) telling this story as a patient at a mental hospital.

The drama drags on as you wait for the CG aliens to do something. Not an exciting unless you are into bad conspiracy theories that combine the Bible with alien technology... I'm sure the Free Masons are in on it too.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity ( one-toke Rae-Ann Dillman))

Nifty sci-fi/horror thriller

Warning: Spoilers
A criminally insane mental patient relates to psychiatrist Dr. Schroder (a sound performance by Nneka Croal) how four of his friends were murdered by aliens who thrive on human fear. Writers/directors Christian Blaze and Crystal-Dawn Rosales relate the complex and absorbing story at a snappy pace, take time to develop the engaging and believable main characters, make good use of the remote sylvan setting, ably craft a nervy paranoid atmosphere, and toss in an edgy government conspiracy subplot for good measure. Moreover, there's also one perfectly perky pair of bare breasts and a satisfying smattering of gore. The solid acting by the capable non-star cast holds this movie together: Blaze as the easygoing Chris, Justin Stillwell as troubled nice guy Justin, Allison Warnyca as the sweet and foxy Allie, T.J. Riley as the jerky T.J., and Mitzi Thaddeus as the spunky Mitzi. The funky stylized cinematography by Dylan Cooper and Shunsuke Tagami offers a wealth of snazzy visuals as well as makes kinetic use of a hyperactive Steadicam. The shivery score by Luis Mario Magana and Wolfgang Mittendorfer does the skin-crawling trick. Only the dodgy CGI effects leave something to be desired. A neat little flick.
