Funny and interesting for the whole 90 seconds

In an open field, a man in a suit walks, looks around, runs and frolics in the water and the open space. Although he wears a suit, he longs to be a horse – he longs for the freedom that that will bring, but his dream seems unlikely to ever come true.

As the title suggests, this film is the second made by Haywood and Kirkland; I'm not sure if this is a sequel but from the look of it I would guess that it is a straight remake with a bigger budget. The film opens with a man moving through the fields while his French dialogue is subtitled onto the screen It is deliberately poetic, a bit pretentious and, well, very "French". This mood is well balanced by curiosity value of the piece and the very thing that makes it – the punch line. I will of course have no mention of it here but suffice to say it is funny if a strange way even if it is not that hilarious. The cinematography is great – gorgeous black and white that matches the (initial) mood set by the dialogue; hence my assumption that this was a bigger budget than they may have had first time.

Overall this is a very short film that delivers its joke and then ends; it is very interesting and has such an offbeat punch line that you are as bewildered as you are amused. This is the sort of thing you can probably download from somewhere and I recommend that you do.

Worth the 90 seconds I spent watching it...

For a 90 second short film, it's pretty good--though it probably makes you wonder, rightfully, just how good you can make a film that lasts just seconds?!

The film begins with a dorky looking guy running through the fields and the narration is about how he longs to be a horse. During all this, you see the guy in a black suit and tie (sort of like a MEN IN BLACK character minus the glasses) and only at the very end does the scene abruptly end with him standing among the cows.

So, that's really all there is to it. The camera-work is rather choppy--like they are skipping frames, but otherwise it's a pleasant looking and rather bizarre 90 seconds of my life I won't get back. Worth a look? Well,...it's only 90 seconds,...so,...sure. Why not?
