American professional mixed martial artist Michael Chandler is making headlines for calling out Conor McGregor on the latest episode of WWE Monday Night Raw in Anaheim, California. This is not the first time McGregor has been challenged. New UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria challenged the Irishman during his UFC 298 post-fight interview.
McGregor has not appeared in any fights ever since he suffered a leg injury against Dustin Poirier in 2021 at UFC 264. Michael Chandler had also lost his last fight to Poirier at UFC 281 in 2022. Facing off against each other will give them both a chance to redeem themselves from their defeat to Poirier. Chandler has openly challenged McGregor to a fight.

Paramount has cut a deal to sell off its Bellator mixed martial arts promotion.
The company is selling a majority stake in Bellator to the Professional Fighters League (Pfl), an upstart Mma promotion that was created to take on the UFC, which is the dominant player in the space.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but previous reports had pegged the value of Bellator at around $500 million. Paramount will retain a minority stake in the combined company.
Donn Davis, the founder of Pfl, announced the acquisition Monday morning, writing that its fighter roster is now equal to that of the UFC, and that it will relaunch the Bellator brand next year.
Pfl received a substantial investment from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund earlier this year, and also counts Kevin Hart, Mark Burnett and Wiz Khalifa as minority owners.

Tails is not a white-collar gentlemen's club. It's a borderline-legal bar with topless dancers and a back room where anything goes for the right price. He must decide how many friends to sacrifice in order to save himself.
Nick is played by Harley Wallen (Betrayed) and he’s also directing the first season. "It’s definitely a dark series showing the dirty underbelly of the strip clubhouse industry and a dark character as well, but there is at least some dark humor to it as well,...

Oscar-winning documentary director Roger Ross Williams (Music by Prudence) and Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Media are teaming to develop High on the Hog, a docuseries chronicling African American history through the lens of food, based on Dr. Jessica B. Harris’ book High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America.
The book, published in 2011 by Bloomsbury, sets out to document the African Diaspora from a culinary perspective; the potential multi-part series traces the moving story of a people’s survival and triumph via the food that has knit together generations and helped define the American kitchen. It’s described as a culinary journey that stretches from Africa to enslavement, emancipation, the Harlem Renaissance, the march for Civil Rights, and up to the present day, and will explore the food and tastes that have profoundly impacted the American palate, and helped shape the country’s relationship with food, music,...

Professional fighter Kimbo Slice has died at 42. "Professional," however, was an adjective that really only described the latter half of Slice's life, the part that would rock the sport of mixed martial arts. The Bahamian Slice, né Kevin Ferguson, briefly attended the University of Miami (where he studied criminal justice) and had a tryout for the Miami Dolphins in 1997. For a stretch in 1994, he lived out of his truck. Throughout the 1990s, he worked variously as a bodyguard and limo driver for Rk Netmedia, a pornography company better known as Reality Kings. By 2003, he began participating in unsanctioned street fights in and around Miami.

Pro wrestling’s outcomes have been predetermined for more than a century, but even before the truth about the business was exposed to the public at large, there had long been attempts to make it feel more “real.” Once the modern Mma art form emerged in the ’90s and began to gain a foothold in Japan and the U.S., wrestling had a clear source from which to draw inspiration.
In the 2000s, mixed martial arts began to skyrocket in popularity – first in Japan via the emergence of Pride Fighting Championships, then a few years later in the U.S. when the introduction of The Ultimate Fighter turned the Ufc from an underground organization into a mainstream brand. In both countries, pro wrestling began to lose traction to Mma, and before long, WWE and the like simply weren’t seen as cool.

As a fan of the Ufc/Mma in general, I have frequently found myself disappointed with games based around the sport. The Thq-developed Undisputed franchise was fun, but a far cry from realism. EA Sports Mma was a nice start for the publisher, but again, wasn’t entirely realistic. Although I had some issues with it, the original EA Sports Ufc was arguably the best version of the sport seen so far. After taking 2015 off, EA Canada has returned with EA Sports Ufc 2, which is shooting to the be the new king of a not so crowded genre.
While EA Sports Ufc 2 introduces several new features to the franchise, the most noticeable is the revamped grappling system. Moving away from the special maneuver-like joystick flicking of old, EA Canada has implemented a system that is easy to learn, but a little more difficult to master.

Riddle, who made his Mma debut as part of “The Ultimate Fighter” season seven and racked up an 8-3-2 record in the sport, retired in 2014 to pursue a career in pro wrestling. After training at New Jersey’s Monster Factory, Riddle attended a WWE tryout and drew interest from company officials. Given his lack of experience and the company’s budding relationship with Evolve, WWE was able to get Riddle bookings with the independent promotion before committing to a contract with him.

To become a legend of this sport and gain a name that will forever be engraved in the Hall of Fame and the memories of fans, you truly need to give your life to game.
The select few who do so must surround themselves with other elite fighters, train constantly and miss out on the partying lifestyle that can be oh-so tempting when you are establishing a name for yourself. In a sport where the money is far from glamorous until you reach the very top and become a superstar, it is clear to see that it takes a certain kind of motivated character to take this journey.

Who needs a superhero on a screen when we have Ronda Rousey in real life? The athlete-model-actress, who celebrates her 29th birthday today, was already a super-star among the mixed martial arts set when she was offered a role in Furious 7 back in 2013 and joined reality series The Ultimate Fighter (final result: victory). But it took another year or so for the tastemakers to really get with the program and make Rousey the crossover celebrity we didn't even know we were waiting for. It may have been her success in the Ufc ring—and, yes, her pretty face—that opened the door, but it's been her candor, humor, seeming fearlessness and overall magnetism that's keeping her in the...

The Ufc returns this weekend with a rare Sunday night show as Ufc Fight Night 81 goes down in Boston, Ma with a bantamweight title fight between the surging T.J. Dillashaw and former champion Dominick Cruz.
Dillashaw has been on a high the past year and a half, having upset dominant champion Renan Barao, and beat the ex-champ again in a rematch, with a win over Joe Soto sandwiched in between the Barao fights. Dillashaw also had a highly publicized split from Urijah Faber’s Team Alpha Male, but the bottom line is that he’s the biggest success story to come out of The Ultimate Fighter in years, and has looked great in the octagon.
However, come Sunday, he’s facing former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz – a man who never actually lost his title. Instead, he was stripped of the belt due to injury, something that has plagued him throughout his career.
