Sex & Nudity

  • Frequent fleeting scenes of full body nudity, both male and female.
  • There is sexual tension depicted throughout the film. Of most disturbing note is a mother character exhibiting incestuous behaviour towards her own soon, specifically in a scene where she exposes his bare buttocks and kisses them in a frenzied sexualised manner. Also, a young woman tastes chemical pheremones which cause her to become hypersexually insane and implicitly sexually attack another young man.

Violence & Gore

  • A young man orders a boy to have his beating heart cut for a shamanistic ritual. Other children restrain the boy as the young man threateningly approaches with a knife. However, the murder doesn't come to pass.
  • Other violent references as a mother tells a story about her birth involving her being cut out of her mother's womb while her mother scalps her own sister. This is later reenacted by her children during a campside tale.
  • There are scenes where a man uses an extraction device in the form of a ring on the back of childrens' necks in order to extract hormones out of their brains. The daughter has the procedure done to her as punishment, causing her to convulse. This causes her to eventually stab her father to death (not shown but his bloodless body is shown afterwards).
  • A mother goes insane and ends up killing a child in order to extract his chemicals. Her son sees her biting into his side with blood pouring out. She vampirically suckles at the wound.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Themes of child abuse, incest, manipulative suicide threats and death and verbal references to violence are dealt with in a surreal manner.
