Trash, nothing good about this abomination
caricatunssss26 November 2018
What can i say about this? it's too obvious all that is wrong with this film that talking about how bad is it would feel redundant. Just trash, the animation is horrible and it recycles scenes. There are like eight songs that come from nowhere. And simply, every single thing on this excuse of a film comes from nowhere. It's not like the 1988 film where everything is weird because it tried to be weird, here everything is weird because the film is bad. The film is weird, but not good weird, it's just a confusing film. Nothing is understandable, everything comes from nowhere, the plot is the most used plot in christmas specials. Trash, trash, TRASH. Nothing good about this one, even the songs are horrible.

A 10 minute cartoon lazily stretched to over 70 minutes.

Warning: Spoilers
Although the animation is FINE, it has some errors such as weird perspective and just WRONG lighting in many places.

A big portion of this "movie" is just the characters talking really slowly to waste time, random subplots that don't end up anywhere and lazy musical sections for no reason.

The literal point of the film, Felix SAVING Christmas, doesn't even come up until like 40-50 minutes in (I'm not gonna watch this garbage again to double check the exact time it happens).

I would not be surprised if this "MOVIE" turned out to be entirely written in a day. It just seems like a 10 minute script of a TV show hastily and lazily stretched to make it a movie and release it on DVD.

Somehow, they got everything bad from the previous attempts at Felix media in the same place - the sub-par comedy and overall scripting of the 1959 show, the time wasting of the 1989 film, the sometimes confusing and overused craziness that happened in Twisted Tales, and to top it all off, they used that mock-up Mickey Mouse voice we all love.

I'm only giving this a three because AT LEAST SOMETIMES THE ANIMATION LOOKS GOOD, because everywhere else it'd be the flattest 1 I've ever seen.

Worst Felix the Cat movie ever
Howard-3003923 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Among watching this trashfire with my friends, I have offically declared this the worst Felix the Cat movie ever. This movie has one of the crummiest art direction I've ever seen; Who ever told these guys that having Felix not thick lined wasn't a good idea, not only is it a jarring result, but it doesn't make sense why Felix can't have thick lines in this movie. If you're gonna go with the 60's style of Felix, then stick to having everyone have thick lines. Next off, Felix's voice in this feels too babyish and patronizing to listen to. In fact, everyone except for Tom Bosley and Jason Marsden's characters. I'm disappointed that Dave Coulier did a lousy performance as Felix because his Rock Bottom voice is promising. But for the most part, the voice acting is patronizing and insulting to it's target audience; It's like the voices you'd do when you're talking to a baby or a dog except you do it to a 6-12 year old kid and they tell you "I'm not a baby". I'm not saying voices like that should just stop existing because I said so, I'm saying it's the type of voice that kids would hate to hear. The animation is trying somewhat to be Wang Films Animation (Courage the Cowardly Dog, Chalkzone, Garfield and Friends) by having scenes where you still see animation in the body even while they're talking, but they don't really commit to it half of the time and often flip between limited animation, and smooth Wang Films animation (Wang didn't animate for this). When they reuse previous animations though, it becomes jarring to watch. During the Snow Kids Rock scene, I just went on my phone because they just kept reusing animation of the snow kids sledding near the halfpipe. An Audience doesn't want to see the same few scenes reused over and over again during music videos. I will at least say that this was probably a little studio making this cartoon, and Felix's reputation during the 2000's was diminishing (I blame Oriolo) not to mention by the time production of this movie wrapped at around 2003, Don Oriolo was busy working on Coconut Fred prior to Fred's inevitable destruction due to Kids WB dying in 2006. It still is a bad movie regardless, and it sucks that the small studio overseas worked on this abomination because I saw some potential in some of the movie's more smoother animations. If this didn't kill Felix the Cat back in the day, then DreamWorks not doing Jack with the franchise is doing the trick.

Somebody just bring back Twisted Tales of Felix, that was the most faithful to the old Fleischer Felix cartoons.

A wonderfully thought out movie that is sure to bring cheer to all
thetest22010 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Two little words help to bring all of the movie magic to life: David Coulier. David's voice acting of Felix is nothing short of fantastic. When Felix was, quite amusingly, looking for trash in a dumpster, David made "meow"ing sounds that made the audience not only want Felix to find that fish bone head, but NEED Felix to find it. At one point in the movie, when Felix goes to save Christmas, Danny Tanner (or Full House fame) goes out to great (or should I say grrrrreat!) Felix as a delightful dog. While I found the Cat and the Dog's relationship to be questionable (very sexually lewd), I did eat a doughnut. In conclusion, Felix the Cat is "the meow". The END.

This was the best Felix the Cat movie!
whackamolewv29 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I wish Felix the Cat would get more support and attention. After some research, I found out the first Felix the Cat cartoon was made in 1919, so basically Felix the Cat was the Mickey Mouse before Mickey Mouse! Spoiler warning: The Professor's "It's Not Easy Being Mean" song was catchy! I hope Felix the Cat will come back in the future. This Felix the Cat movie was better than the 1980s Felix the Cat Movie. The 1980s Felix the Cat Movie was still decent to be honest, but I prefer this Felix the Cat movie. I hope Felix the Cat will get a lot of support like he used to. I'm tired of people comparing Felix the Cat to cringe bootlegs like Bendy and Cartoon Cat.
