During Montreal postproduction, director Gavin Heffernan bumped into 'Michael J. Fox', who graciously stopped in the middle of a heavy rainstorm to sign an autograph and offer support. Heffernan subsequently donated 100% of the film's proceeds to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Two weeks after the film's premiere, the digital master and backup were stolen in a home robbery, leaving approximately 40 copies of the movie in existence.
A freak mid-April blizzard forced the filmmakers to halt shooting for two weeks, almost terminating the production.
During one overhead long shot, we see Brian run into a movie theatre in pursuit of Christopher Walken. A theatre attendant shakes her head and presumably points in the direction Walken was seen last. In reality, the attendant was explaining "I can't be in your movie. Please go away. Try asking someone over there."
For scenes filmed on public streets, actor Simon Phillips was in charge of "crowd control". To ensure pedestrians wouldn't look in the camera and ruin the shot, Phillips, standing 50 yards away, would dance, twirl umbrellas and act like a mentally disturbed person in order to hold their attention.
